First Table

Want to dine at some of our best restaurants for half the price?

Half-priced restaurant service First Table launches on the Gold Coast on June 4, with more than a dozen new restaurants joining the discount dining network, including local favourites SoPo Dining Room and Baskk at Kirra Point.

First Table rewards diners making early-bird bookings with a 50% discount off the total food bill from member restaurants.

The platform — which has more than 700 restaurants across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK — solves the age-old problem of slow starts to evenings in restaurants and lets patrons try new spots at a discounted rate.

With no cost to join for either restaurants or diners, users pay just $10 to make a booking at a partner restaurant in the early hours of the evening for half price off the total food bill.

Queensland Manager Jessie Monkley says, “I am so passionate about introducing First Table users to the best hospitality the coast has to offer. From industry mainstays, best kept secrets and the influx of new openings in recent years — I think this is one of the most exciting places to eat out in Australia. First Table will help establishments capitalise on those investments by drawing in new clientele.”

Founder Mat Weir says the service quenches the appetites of people wanting new dining experiences and is perfect for businesses wanting to attract new diners.

“At First Table we want to make it easy to eat out more often. First Table is to restaurants what happy hours are for bars — we make it affordable for adventurous food lovers to discover new restaurants during their quietest times; it’s a win-win for both parties.

It’s no secret that the Gold Coast has upped its food game in recent years, and we can’t wait to help people discover these new must-eats by introducing them to tourists and locals alike.”

Since launching in Queenstown in 2013, First Table has helped more than 190,000 diners discover the best restaurants in their area without breaking the bank.

This year, First Table has launched in Canberra, Darwin, Geelong, Wollongong, and the southern Sunshine Coast, as well as London, Bristol, and Bath in the UK.

Now it’s the Gold Coast’s turn.
