  • What an ode of joy I uttered when I saw Baba au Rhum for sale at @my_french_pastries in Robina! How delicious they are too, little yeasty parcels of dough soaked in orange syrup and rum. Allegedly, the dessert originated when Polish king Stanislas Lesczinski, exiled to France, dipped his bundt cake in rum and set it alight. "Voila Baba!" he exclaimed, naming the dessert after his favourite literary character Ali Baba... Or so the story goes...
