  • Long Chim Sydney presents Thai street food from Chef David Thompson. We choose a range of dishes to share: filled betel nut leaves, chive cakes, Prawn satay, fish cakes, grilled swordfish in red curry accompanied by stir fried Siamese watercress. Curries don't hold back on the rich, authentic flavours of Thailand, even though they're now trendy fodder for suits and stilettoes! How far these dishes have travelled! . . #foodgoldcoastontour #longchim #longchimsydney #sydneyrestaurants #thaistreetfood #thaifoodlovers #authenticthaifood #sydneyfoodies
  • Caramelised bacon on a doughnut? Only at The Doughnut Affair. And it's not the only surprise. Check out the delicious options and choose the one that rocks your boat. My favourite was a simple yuzu with green tea glaze and a hint of lemon. Surprisingly fresh, it's a taste sensation! • Ho Jiak, Haymarket, was 2018 People's Choice restaurant in Sydney CBD. We shared a Malaysian feast - Satay sticks, Chee Cheong Fun - rice rolls with shrimp paste, and Choay Tau Eu - steamed Barra with signature soy sauce, cured mushrooms and shallots. Looks ordinary? Tastes sublime! @hojiak.haymarket . . #foodgoldcoastontour #haymarket #chinatownsydney #barramundi #seafoodfeast #malaysianfood #haymarketfood #top100

  • These mixed vegetable dumplings from Lok Lol Dumpling Bar Hornsby make a delicious and nutritious lunch. A look back at history tells us that Zhang Zhongiing, the founder of Chinese herbal medicine almost two millenniums ago, returned home one winter to find his fellow villagers suffering from frostbite to the ears. He brewed up herb and mutton soup, then wrapped the cooked meat and herbs in a skin of wheat flour in the shape of an ear, returning them to the soup to cook.Legend says that when the villagers ate the soup and jiaozi their circulation improved and their ears were healed. Ever since, dumplings have been included in Chinese New Year celebrations as tidings of good health. . . #foodgoldcoastontour #dumplings #jiaozi #yumcha #dumplinglove #hornsbyfood #westfieldhornsby #dumpling #sydneyfoodies
  • School holidays are almost upon us. It's a time I used to make a list of things to do and places to go when we needed to get out of the house. Farm & Co would have been at the top of my list - a great place to go with kids to see a real working farm, to see some sunflowers, buy some organic vegetables and to have a meal (like the mushroom rosti pictured). Kingscliff Beach is just down the road from @farm.and.co . . #foodgoldcoast #holidayfun #schoolholidayactivity #familyfarm #kingscliffbeach #sunflowers🌻 #organicproduce #organicrestaurant
